Coaching and Mentoring

Mentoring-In The Information age. We can sometimes feel overwhelmed about the information overload. This can also happen when we go on a training course on behalf of our firm or company. The training of classroom based learning seems irrelevant or that you can take back and action. When you can go back to the office or shopfloor. Mentoring is one of the key ways of training and developing staff. Many leaders and senior managers mentor new trainees and also successful self made entrepreneurs will mentor new bright people looking to start new businesses.

In fact "Mentoring" is another growing field and many coaches also become mentors. Mentoring is real powerful and effective strategy of getting the peak performance from their Mentees. (I.e these are people who are being mentored so to speak).Mentors work in all sorts of companies from small, medium and large. It enables the individuals being mentored unleash their unused potential. A Mentors can act as a Sounding Board, they can make informed decisions and they have the ability to listen and ask questions. They can give them the self-belief and confidence to thrive and flourish in their job roles. They can help make a diffference and it can be both personally and professionally satisfying to both the Mentor and Mentee.

There seems to be a way of connecting the Mentor and Mentee and developing the relationship over time. I would add that both parties should only enter into this if there is complete trust. The Mentor must also challenge and push the Mentee from his or her comfort zone. However the flip side is that the Mentee must also be engaged and passionate about his or her into entering an agreement with the Mentor.
